It is very dated to me and not to the point of being ready for a comeback. Plus I don't love Ronald. I was surprised that someone else said it was trendy in their area. I don't know a soul under 65 named Ron, Ronnie or Ronald.

I’m in the UK. It’s in the top 100 here, along with similar names like Albie, Reggie, Teddy, Frankie etc. Cutesy diminutives are very popular for boys here.

To me, Ronnie sounds boring and childish. It makes me think to someone who is grumpy and furious all the time.
