How is it pronounced?

eye-LONN-wee or ay-LONN-wee (I have seen both).

It has a very pretty meaning, and the name itself is attractive in a weird elfin sort of way. Maybe because I don't have any reference for it, it seems masculine to me. I like it!

It's really lovely. That "wy" supplies the perfect amount of whimsy.

It's odd and flowy, calls to mind Isla, Eileen, Elowen, usable but not my thing.

Very whimsical, mysterious. I like it.

I've always liked it. It seemed too one-character to be a baby name for a long time, but now, I dunno ... I think those books are some kind of canon now. It's like Arwen, took some years for people to start using for babies.

I really like this name. It’s unique and in my opinion, looks and sounds pretty and it’s fun to say

Was that the name of the princess in the Black Cauldron? I find it a little bit confusing visually but it's still nice in a fae kind of way.

Yes. I haven't read the book yet but I think I will order it. I love the look of the name and the meaning. But yes, it is a bit complicated.

Do read the whole series, starts with Book of Three. It seems like something you'd like! That was my favorite series as a child.
