Orville
I'm on a quest to find the perfect combo for Orville, which is my current favourite name. Let me preface this by saying: I know what I'm working with here. I understand all the stereotypes. It's all ok and good with me (I love airplanes and popcorn), and I'm not naming a person, this is all theoretical. So that being said - please give me some ideas for middle names for Orville! One or even two is fine. Additional questions:Orville on a GIRL?! Does this remove some of the stigma, or only enhance it? Nicknames? I'm leaning towards Orrie.

Villie or Ori.Orville as feminine sounds like the 10th daughter (in a family of all girls) born in the 1930s on a farm in midwest America. I guess it'd bring out the pluckiness of the name and makes it slightly more romantic: I wonder, whatever happened to that girl!? She sounds like a character.Orville for a guy is kind of like Norman, Cletus, Ogden, Whittaker, Rufus. He sounds a bit more entitled or a bit more ho hum. But maybe clever or snappy or good at farmwork.I came across Opal Viola Victoria on a character recently and thought it was charming; Opal (before it suddenly started seeming like it could be young) used to have a vibe similar to Orville to me, so I'm going with alliterative double middle names...Orville Marion Magnolia
Orville Frances Fiona
Orville Fabienne Frida
Orville Ruby Raffaela
Orville Anastasia Alice
Orville Cleopatra Carmen
Orville Rosalind Rebecca
Orville Guadalupe Gladys
Orville Anita Agnes

I'm definitely digging the alliterative middle names. Orville is absolutely ridiculous so having a wimsical combo is pretty essential. No sense pretending it's an ordinary name.I LOVE the visual of a tenth daughter called Orville in a dustbowl-era story. Wow, yes. These combos of yours really stood out to me:Orville Marion Magnolia
Orville Frances Fiona
Orville Ruby Raffaela - I'm very into Orville Ruby
Orville Anastasia Alice
Orville Cleopatra Carmen
Orville Guadalupe Gladys
Orville Betty Barbara
Orville Denise Delilah
Orville Dolores Delta
Orville Vera Valentine
Orville Veronica Vashti - Ooh, Vashti
Orville Evelyn Esmeralda
Orville Agatha Albertine
Orville Lavender Lindita

One of my favorites!I fell in love with this name thanks to alt-country singer Orville Peck (highly recommend him!) I also really like Orville for a girl, reminds me a little of Orla. I think it would help remove some of the stigma.Nicknames could be Orvi, Orlie, maybe Lillie for a girl?Orville Henri is cute! Orville Jay is cute too! I like the "ah" sound after Orville, something like Orville Emrich maybe?

He's interesting! I've never listened to shoegaze country music before.Orville is the perfect stage name for a mysterious gay country musician who used to be in a punk band, who knew.

That's why I like this name so much too - Orville Peck! He's the BEST. Orville "Lillie" is pretty amazing, I love that idea, it seems very 1890s.
