NMS because I always think of "minx" as describing someone tongue-in-cheek as a temptress. Minx was my dad's private nickname for my mother, that he called her affectionately. So I can't picture using Minxie for a baby, that'd feel icky to me personally. If Minxie was somebody's name it wouldn't bother me, it'd just be strange to me. I wouldn't like it ... I generally don't like -xie names like Trixie and Roxie, they sound too "tough" to me. Tricksy, Rocksy, Minksy... like Bugsy, Banksy ... they sound sorta artificially edgy, like characters in an old detective novel. I don't think they're godawful on other people, but they're not to my taste.

I love it as an off-kilter nickname. Minerva or Millicent or Wilhelmina "Minxie" would be rocking.

My dad called me Little Weasel as a kid; I get that kind of vibe from it (little mink, as a childhood NN) except really twee if it's official, like Minnie, Trixie, Birdie as full names.
It can also seem like Doxy or Foxy, weirdly suggestive or more appropriate as a pet name. I do know of a dog named Doxy.

Considering that the word “minx” is often colloquially used to refer to hyper-sexual, often manipulative women, I would not use it myself. I would not want somebody thinking of those traits when they think about my little girl. The spotlight would always be on whether or not she was living up to those traits, which can sometimes influence somebody to embrace one extreme or the other. On top of that it’s very nicknamey and cutesy-sounding and doesn’t seem like it would age well. “Supreme Court Justice Minxie Smith” or “Nobel Laureate Minxie Jones” sounds a bit ridiculous.

Oh see, I love that idea. Supreme Court Justice Minxie. YES. Maybe this is just residual anger as someone who had a really stupid, infantile name and who once thought the same, that I could never amount to anything respectable because I had such a silly name. It's made me protective of all others with unexpected names. You CAN be a Nobel Laureate with a stupid name! I believe in you, non-existent Minxie.

There is a successful medical doctor in my area whose first name is Cinnamon. I kid you not. And it doesn't appear to have held her back.

OH MY GOD. I was NOT expecting to come across this name twice in my life lmao!! I once had a neighbor named Foxy, who had a sister named Minxie... as in they were named for the animals XD I can only imagine what a 3rd or 4th sibling would have been named: Mousey, Badgery, Weasely, Wolfy, Groundhoggy, Gophery or Squirrely I imagine hahaha! Oh goodness.

Love Minxie. Reminds me of Jinxie, which was the name of a columnist in some 50's homemaker magazines I inherited from my great grandmother.
Mixie has a "cool, daddio" kind of energy that I enjoy. I don't think I'd use it on its own, maybe as a cute pet name for something more stodgy, like Marjorie, Araminta (instead of "Minty") or even Mary/Maria (if Mitzi can come from Maria, why not Minxie?).
