Emery
What are your thoughts on Emery?I like it for both.I guess because I love Emily so much but not so much its meaning or popularity.Emery, though different in style, sort of solves this. I know it is getting popular but it stopped rising last year so I don't think it will ever get as common as Emily.Thoughts? Please rate my list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/6232

I only like it on a boy, short for Emerson.

I don’t like anything about it, sorry. It sounds like somebody saying “Emily” with a speech impediment and it reminds me of emery boards. I know it has history as a first name, but it sounds bery surnamey/placenamey to me.

Haha I understand, I have that problem with Juniper. It always sounds like Jennifer to me, said with food in your mouth or something.

I like it. But I favor Emory and Amory. Boy only.

The sound of Emery is lovely, but all I can think of is emery board and filing my nails.

I've liked Emery for ages for a girl. Kinda bummed that it is now so trendy. I'm guessing it could reach Top 20.I dislike Emery for a boy, but I love Emeric - more solid/has more substance.

For some reason it prefer the spelling Emmery, but it’s not horrible. I think it’s fairly unisex.

Sounds like a place name.

Emery is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. I think I prefer it on a boy than a girl but it works for both. I'm not too sure why, it just seems more of a masculine name to me even though it's more popular for girls these days.
