Hector and Linus
What do you think of these two names? They are names that have graced my PNL for as long as I could remember but I feel I have always been somewhat on the fence about…I don’t know what it is about them that makes me keep them around.I finally moved them over to my Recently Discarded list but now I’m having second thoughts. So, what do you think?Edit: Also, blatant plea for PNL ratings! I have an abundance of names that have sat without any ratings for a while now. Rate one list, or just a handful of names…anything is appreciated. Will return the favor if you ask. :)

Please rate my lists. All of them are ratable except for the Main list and the Surname list. :)New names! PNL updated 6/21.https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/174843/136906

I like them. They are both usable in my opinion. Linus is very common here, though I prefer the English pronounciation of Lynus instead of Leenus. Hector isn't that far from Victor.

I love Linus. I think it’s a wonderful name, fully ready to ditch the Peanuts connection. Hector isn’t my favourite. It’s a synonym for bullying or browbeating, which I can’t get past.

I've always had a soft spot for Linus, and Hector slowly grew on me after watching the Castlevania series on Netflix.

Would actually make a good sibset...Hector I don't particularly like (kinda nerdy), but it's respectable. It has the same vibe as Oscar and Corbin to me.
Linus I like more; it reminds me of the color yellow and has a more aristocratic vibe.

I like Hector. It seems Scottish rather than Greek (or Trojan), and my step-MIL had an uncle Hector who did a lot for nature conservation. Linus ... the Peanuts kid with the blanket. Whom I love devotedly, but not really someone I'd name anyone after.

Wow, I haven’t thought about that character in a long time! I’m thinking I might discard Linus and let Hector stick around until next purge cycle when I’m stuck with what to do with him again…

Hector and Linus are names I want to like but I can't imagine them on a real living person, they just sound so cold and unfriendly and I have never met one. They don't have friendly nicknames either. Maybe my perception would change if I met one.Hector is very grand and might work in the MN spot to avoid the nickname Heck.Thomas Hector?
Philip Hector?

I sort of feel the same way, I think that’s why I keep trying to brush them off but can’t because I’m also attracted to them!Thomas Hector is nice; it’s an honoring name for me. :)
