Esmé
What do you think of Esmé? I really like it on a girl.

I dislike the way it sounds in English. In French it's es-MEH (with a long EH sounds) which is pretty to me, but ez-MAY sounds odd. Also, it should be Esmée for a girl, which looks much prettier, in my opinion.Esmé still feels Twilight to me and I didn't like her character. So I vote no for Esmé and yes for Esmée.

I love Esmé and Isemay. I think they're really pretty. They're only not up at the top of my list because I have a preference for longer names.I think I prefer Isemay slightly more because it's a) Has Medieval English usage and b) Can be nn Izzy which I love

I think it’s absolutely lovely, but people mistakenly use the masculine version a lot. The feminine version is pronounced identically, but spelled Esmée. It’s like the difference between fiancé and fiancée. Otherwise, if you’re going to set aside the French origin of the name by using the wrong spelling, I would just go whole hog with the anglicization and spell it Esme, without the accent. Esmé for a girl is kind of a weird middle ground that pleases no one. I also like it as a nickname for Esmeralda, too.

Adore this name, it’s a fave of mine and definitely one I would use if my DH would get on board with the name.

It's such a pretty name. It makes me think of dusty pink and peonies.

Always a girl name in South Africa. I like it very much and would use it as a mn - it's a family name as well as the name of a wonderful person I used to know.
