I dislike it. It seems to intend to be perky and can-do, but it comes off hyper and harsh to me, preppy and pushy.
Imitating Hollywood (Piper Laurie) - I'm pretty sure that's the source of the appeal, plus the airplane thing.
But before that, I think of the Pied Piper - a domineering image.
And the "pipe" thing ... it's not a good sensory impression. Feels like ... tubes.- mirfak

If you look at its rise it started getting more and more popular after Charmed, where one of the sisters was named Piper. I wouldn't be surprised if that had an effect. Phoebe and Paige (also sisters) also got a bit of a jump after the show came out. Prue / Prudence was the only sister who didn't seem to give a bump to her name lol
