Ida vs. Ada
Which would you choose, and why? What would you use for a middle name? **After supposedly dying on January 30, 2007 after eating tainted pancakes, she returned several times as an angel and was revealed to be alive on May 17, 2011. )**

Ada 100%. It’s prettier. Ida say Ida’s too prone to puns.

Ada ... maybe only because Ida reminds me too much of the contraction "I'd." I'd 'ave ...
I can't seem to get past that. It's a pun looking for a predicate.
Isla doesn't bother me so Ida shouldn't, but it does.
I've always liked Ada. I am just kind of aware of the Ad / Aid sound getting past its fashion prime, so I'm not that into it these days.Ada Maureen
Ada Melinda
Ada Victoria
Ada Rosetta

IdaI prefer Ida to Ada. I would probably use Ida Roseline, Ida Yvette, or Ida Harriet.

I really like both, but I'm currently crushing on Ida (Ee-duh), because of a character. Ada is lovely but doesn't have quite as much style, substance, and personality as Ida does imo. That being said, come back tomorrow and I might change my mind. I like Ida with nature or witchy sounding names along the lines of:Ida Rowenna
Ida Lavender
Ida Hermione
Ida Raven
Ida Wildrose

IdaIt's graceful in a smoky, subdued way. Ida Clematis came to mind first. Ida Marianne is lovely too.

AdaAda by far. Many short I- names seem woefully incomplete to me, like they're just parts of longer names in a way that makes them seem more messily chopped off rather than like nicknames even. And yes, I can see the irony of Ida being its own name and Ada being originally a nickname in this context. It's just how the names feel to me.Ada Mary is probably my fave combo.

IdaI'd go with Ida (EE-dah), which has a stronger ring to it.Ida Lorraine
Ida Sybil
Ida Maud

Ada. Ida seems to not quite hit the right note, like it's off key. Ada hits it. Whatever "it" is, I don't know exactly. But Ida seems like Ada's plainer, boring, stern cousin. Ada is lively & friendly.I like the combos Ada Florence and Ada Felicity which Pink Princess suggested. Lovely & the same style.

Ida, I think. I know it's technically the more popular one (at least in Scandinavia?) but for me it's more unusual. Ada makes me think too much of Ava and I'm Ava'd out. Ida seems more retro and endearingly grumpy.eta, forgot to combo. Ummm......Ida Maeve seems really pretty to me. Also the very simple Ida Rose.

Ada, most definitely. I think it’s such a pretty name and it’s actually on both sides of my family. Ada Grace was on the paternal side and Ada Florence was on the maternal side. I love both combos, but I also love Ada Violet, Ada Phoebe, Ada Felicity, Ada Celeste, Ada Matisse, Ada Miriam, Ada Lucy, Ada Lily, Ada Sage, Ada Willow, Ada Pearl, Ada Iris, Ada Primrose, Ada Ruby, Ada Evelyn, Ada Patience and Ada Rosemary.
