Emily
Do you like Emily? How boring is it to you? Jennifer-boring? Sarah-boring?I really like it and to me it still feels somewhat fresh. I can't really explain why. Maybe because Emma was so much more popular that it seems almost like a relief in comparison. Maybe because its sound pattern isn't as common? Sarah, Emma, Luna etc. are like so many other names, two syllables, end in -a. Whereas Emily's sound seems fresher. Please rate my list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/6232

It is super common boring, as pretty as it is. I grew up a million Emilys. Not Emmas, Emmys, or Ems - Emilys. Emily C, Emily D, Emily J, Emily T, gap-toothed Emily, curly-haired Emily, etc... I always felt bad for them, constantly being confused for each other. It's even more common now!

To me Emily is no more refreshing than Luna. But for this next Generation it definitely will be. Luna has more history, something more to dig into than Emily. Not to mention it just started to get popular not too long ago. Or at least in my opinion.Sarah is obviously boring, Jennifer is just recently starting to take its retirement. So I relate it to Emily.Anyways, Emily isn’t a horrible name. Just so uber-trendy for my generation it’s feels annoyingly bland. My generation also likes to shit on Emily’s with the whole “Crackhead Emily” thing.

It's alright, very timeless, and works in most English speaking places. I'd rather hear different names though. It's definiitely nicer than Emma, though. Emily fits with Coralie, Rosalie, Natalie, which definitely have more flavor than Sarah, Emma or Luna.
