Katherine or Caitlin (more)?
If you had to choose between these two, which one and why (keep the spellings)? If you had to choose between them for the nickname Katie, which one and why (no change of spellings)?Would it change if you could change spellings?Katherine
CaitlinPlease rate my list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/6232

This is a tough one, since I love both names, though if pushed, I'd go with Katherine here, and I'd keep this exact spelling.Katie is a nickname I like for Katherine only, since the nickname for Caitlin will always be Cait to me (or Kait). And, while I like other spellings of both Katherine and Caitlin, these are my favorites, so I'd not change the said spellings for either of the two.

I prefer the sound of Katherine. I dislike the cadence and prominent "ay" sound of Caitlin. I also now associate it with the blogger "Mrs. Midwest."I would choose Katherine as a full name for Katie. If I didn't have to use Katie, I would change the spelling to Catherine.

KatherineIt's more timeless.

Katherine because I’m sick of hearing Caitlin (and it’s variants).

Katherine, one-hundred times over. Caitlin feels super dated to me. I really like Caitlín and if I could be sure people would pronounce it correctly I might be tempted by that, but I can’t so I’m not. Katherine has the advantage of timelessness and also, for me, being a Bennet sister. I don’t think Caitlin becomes Katie very easily or, like, ever. Cait yes, but Katie no. They’re both two syllables so I don’t really see the point.
