Bill
Years ago I had a young student that went by Bill which was a surprise then. I just got an email from a Bill. I kinda like it and it seems refreshing. Wdyt?

I prefer Will. Bill seems like it can only belong to a middle-aged man or older, Will is a bit softer and more timeless.

I have been thinking about Bill & Billy lately too! I met a Billy in his early-mid twenties a little while ago and at first it seemed weird, it's not at all a common or particularly "current" name to me, but it's really grown on me. I think Bill and Billy are great names. Like you say, it seems refreshing.

I agree. Many years ago, I was taken aback to meet a young man named Billy. But now it feels kind of fresh.

I like it. Maybe not as a full name but it’s a nice nickname for William. It’s a change from the boring Will and much better than Willie or Willy.

My cousin Bill makes me love the name for ever. But, I'd use William and shorten it to Will, which is becoming dated, but is still my favourite nn.

I love Bill so much more than Will and more than Billy. I also love Bill as a man for Wilhelmina.
I had a mate in high school named Bill

and Ben tbh I do like Bill and love Billy. William, while nice, is far too common for me to use (and I do NOT want the chance of my kid being nicknamed Liam. Nothing against the name Liam, but this was my stalker's name). Never met a Bill or Billy though. Liam and Will are names I've met.

I loved Liam when it was really uncommon and now I hate it. Soooo whiny.
