Margot is lovely. Mamie simply has a horrendous sound.

Mamie is a racial slur where I know. I don’t like it even then. Margot and Margaux is lovely.

That's amazing! I wouldn't expect to meet a 5-year-old Margot - they tend to be in their 80s where I live! - and Mamie seems 100% American to me, and dated with it. When was 'Auntie Mame' set? 1930s? What a delightful class it must be.

I love Mamie! I'm tired of Margot.

Mamie is too childish as a full name. It also reminds me of "mammy" and "mommy". I find it really unattractive.
