Orendel
What would you think if you met an Orendel?
Would you prefer Orendil, or not?~ song of the week: "Korreltjie Sand"

I like the meaning, I prefer the original spelling Aurvandill.

Sounds like something from Tolkien! I think I prefer Orendel but Orendil has a lot of charm too, it seems extra elven.

Sounds very much like a place, in fact it reminds me of the kingdom of Arendelle from Frozen d:It feels very old school Southern too, like Orville. It's okay, I'd prefer just Oren.

I had to find the submission for Orendel before commenting. I would probably assume that his family was German or really interested in history. I'm not sure how it would be pronounced in modern German, but I say it in my head as Or-in-dul (I don't like the sound of this) or Or-REN-dul (which I think sounds better).
Its got seriousness and maturity. I'll give it that.I saw the numerous variants that this name has (Erentil and Co.). I definitely think that Orendel looks good on paper, but Orendil appeals more to me somehow. I think its because I like the look of Is more than Es. No significant reason. Its cool to share a name with a noble.
