I think of esteemed French actresses like Emmanuelle Riva and Emmanuelle Devos, which makes me like it. It sounds a bit awkward when I say it, though.

Even though I haven't seen the film myself, my first thought is about the French soft erotic film from the 70s. I love how the name sounds but it feels too sexy to use on a child.

I just think of Emmanuel. It’s better than Emmanuella, but to me it still sounds masculine. Basically how I feel about Dominique. Nothing wrong with it though. Would make an interesting middle name.

I like the Em & Elle parts of the name, but I like the "nuel" part. I think it sounds unattractive.
