Name of the Day: Noah
What are your thoughts on the name Noah? What would you pair it with?

I've always found it dull and insipid, even before it got popular here. I can't find much nice to say about it, it almost sounds like a yawn or makes me want to yawn, and I don't hate 'popular' names, some of my 'I would actually have named a kid this' combos use such boring stalwarts as Robert, Charles etc. as honouring names but I like them in their own right in a way, but Noah...yawn. It would need a very exciting name to make it interesting, and I am just not that creative.

I don't think it's an awful name, but it's not in my top 10. I think it's popular in the US mostly because most americans (who aren't Jews or devout christians or biblical scholars) don't know too many old testament characters, only big stars like Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David and Daniel. Here in Israel it's usually seen as an old people name, but it's been coming back recently. (A lot of oldschool names have been coming back, but perhaps Noah specifically has been getting more popular because it's popular in america.)

Very nerdy, and more than a little punchable.
