I love Joanna! I find its plainness elegant and lovely.

I prefer Joan or Jane. I think Joanna is a bit too heavy for me and I don't like either Jo or Anna so together they do nothing for me. I prefer this spelling to Johanna, though. That's all in English. In Polish, if I ever dared to have a daughter here, this would be her name, I'm not accepting any criticism from my SO. She'd be Asia and that's final, number one top name in this language (maybe tied with Nadia).

This must be the most boring name out there, sorry.

I like it very much; it is probably my favourite fem version of John, and a whole lot better than Joan. I prefer it to Johanna because where I live, the sound would be very different: youHUNna, and it would give the impression that its bearer was Afrikaans. Not a bad thing to be, but inaccurate.

I wanted this very odd 60’s movie the other day by the name Joanna… starring Geneviève Waïte and it was just weird and made me see Joanna in a different light. That aside, Joanna is an okay name. I also liked it spelled Joana and I also like Johanna which I prefer more. Other than that I think there are much better John feminizations like Jane, Jacqueline, or even just Joan or Johna.

I've been liking Joanna and Leanna more lately. They're a little outmoded but I think they still fit with the anna/ana trend without being overly "trendy" if that makes sense?
