Judith "Jude"
I’m mostly asking about the nickname Jude for Judith.I like Judy as well, but have always been fond of Jude on a girl. I first heard it on a girl when I came across the actress Jude Demorest (whose full name is Claire Jude Demorest).WDYT?

I like it. It feels like a meta-nickname (like "Hi I'm Jude, that's short for Judy, which is short for Judith") but obviously it can also just be short for Judith without having to evolve from Judy.

I spent a summer in England in high school, and the headmistress of the British school we were visiting was named Judith "Jude." I love it!

Obviously you can use a shorted form of Judith, you could also call her Twinklebug if you want, nicknames are like that. Personally know too many guys called Jude for me to like it on a girl, and prefer Judy.

It works!

Why not? It makes sense if you like it. I prefer Judith, but Jude is less, I don't know, sentimental-sounding than Judy.

Don't really like it for a girl, like it as a boys name though
