Brooklyn
For a long while, I despised this name for a girl. However, I’ve recently taken a liking to it. I found myself saying, “Dude, there’s literally Brooklyn, New York. It’s too associated with that city!”. Then, I remembered that I know many girls called Brooklyn, and that I love the name Savannah (highly associated with Savannah, Georgia). They all live in South Carolina, which is far from Brooklyn, New York; it’s treated them fine. I think of the names Brooke and Lynn combined, and I love how that sounds. What do you think of the name Brooklyn for a girl? Brooklynn is another spelling that I like (but I prefer the more common Brooklyn).

I hate the trend of adding -lyn to everything, it's tacky. Plus, it's a place name, double tacky. Brooke is fine on it's own.

Nope. Still despise it, with eye rolling disdain. Don't much like Brooke, either.

Brooklyn has been growing on me too. I always loved Brooke, but that seems too dated.

I don't live in the US, so I don't think of the city at all. I still think it's an ugly name and makes me think of a surname as opposed to a FN.Brooke is pretty, with all its nature associations. Lynn seems needless at the end. I don't know anyone with the name Brooklyn.
