Melba is so charming and brassy. A great name!

This is a great name, although very tied to the toast for me. It's friendly and well rounded. There's something Southern Gothic about this name, makes me think of Delta (the name, the ecosystem, and the Greek letter). I'd love to meet a Melba!

Reminds me of peach Melba more than anything else.

I knew someone in her early 40s with this name. She was named after the Australian soprano Nellie Melba.

There was/is a r&b singer called Melba Moore. She was all set to have her own TV sitcom, but the night it was supposed to premier, most regular programming was pre-empted because the space shuttle Challenger had blown up earlier that day; the show had to wait a few months, and it was not a success. (I only read about that the other day so it's fresh in my mind.)
