Message: "Kyra" - Behind the Name

i’m writing a book and one character’s name is Kyra (K-eye-ra) though i’ve changed the spelling and pronunciation of it several times.

what do you think of it, and would you spell/pronounce it any differently? :)

My first instinct was "Keer-uh;" I grew up with a Kyra who pronounced it that way. "Kai-ruh" is also very pretty, but I do prefer the name Kira "Keer-uh" instead. Kyra with your desired pronunciation is easily recognized, though you may need to correct some! I'd say to keep the spelling it as is, for your pronunciation

I'd pronounce it Kai ra

Don't really like it, I'd prefer Kara

I like it. I think Kyra is the easiest way to spell it. Kaira would work too but I've never seen it spelled that way.

I think its spelled the ideal way and it sounds good enough. If it were spelled Kira, it would be mispronounced as kee-ra a lot. But I do prefer that name to Kyra.
