Iolanthe
What do you think of this name? I really like Greek names that end with -the.

I love that it's a poetic version of Yolanda. I flippin love Yolanda, it's so colourful and quirky. When I see Iolanthe I imagine a child playing dress up, like when a little kid finds a box of old drapes and wraps themselves up in it, dragging them around the house like a "princess gown". It's beautiful and not practical at all. The "Iola" part really thrills me.

I like the ending, but I'm not sure about the 'io' at the start. It's pretty though, but I prefer Ianthe.

That's fair! I prefer Ianthe too.

Io is fine but the short A in lanthe ruins it for me. It should have been a long A or alternatively a short E would have been pretty.

Long A doesn't sound natural to me. I believe Greek uses a short E sound, though.

It's quite lovely and flowery.

It's gorgeous! I prefer Ianthe, though, which is an all-time favorite.

I love it in the Gilbert and Sullivan context, but not for ordinary use.
