The academic top achievers in the first quarter, 2024 - our schools start in January. There seem to be more girl top achievers than boys; the learners come from both English and Afrikaans households.

My favorites are Alessia, Chiara, Julian, Saskiah (prefer Saskia), Helen, Stefan, Anna-Mari, Rachel, Sune, Kira (without Sue), Leo, and Gaylin (but prefer other spellings), Johannes
I've never met a Migael where I live but it seems popular if there are 2 in this small sample. Mila and Mia also seem popular?
I've met one Leewin (actually Leeuwin) and I didn't know where it came from.
Lots of "ke" ending names too.

I love diversity! Names from all eras and not only your typical top 20 (the Sophie’s and Leo’s). I’m very surprised to see Heinrich twice! It’s not an English nor Dutch name (Hein is, but not Heinrich).

Leewin looks like a once-off name; I've never seen it before. I'd guess that it's probably a compound, that the family is Afrikaans, and that it probably sounds like Leah + Vin.
Divan happens quite often; pronounced deVAHN, it doesn't sound like furniture though it certainly does look like it.
