My husband has gone my Matt (his name is Matthew) since he was a child, and now at age 24 (almost 25) he's trying to move over to Matthew. Matthew is just more respectable in the work place (he's also the youngest at his work and in charge of 40 year old me, so Matt doesn't fly.)Go with Matthew and give the child the option of using either.~Erin Lee, wife of Matthew James, mama to Sarah Patrice (11/29/04) and Dos (due sometime in late February or early March)~

YawnI couldn't even begin to count the number of Matts I've known over the years. I find the name so incredibly dull now.I guess the same way people feel about my name, Jennifer. Just boring and fatigued and sick of it.

I think it's sexybut that's because I've known a string of sexy Matt's. I haven't met any geek Matt's or jerk Matt's, so naturally I like it.~Lillian~

Matt is a little too common. I wouldn't use it as an actual name for a person - merely an (albiet boring) nickname. It's not that bad, though. Heroes aren't people with magic powers - heroes are normal people who do simple or great things to make the world a better place
