WDYT of this name? How do you pronounce it? What would some good nicknames be? I'm really liking this one lately. Thanks in advance! =)Link: Aurelius

I think it's okay, although the archaic style of -us names doesn't suit me personally. I say oh-RAIL-ee-us and I'd call him Ray. Perhaps Aurey, but that'd have to just happen spontaneously, and might seem childish.- mirfak

I pronounce it uh-RAHL-ee-us. The second syllable sounds like "rail". It's a nice name, but I prefer Aurelien. =)

I teach guitar to a 7 year old boy named Aurelius. He goes by Aurey. I love his name, it's so refreshing!

I was actually thinking of this too, and Aurelian (which isn't in the database but Aurelien is).I think it's growing on me.I pronounce it aw-RAY-lee-us (aw like the word 'or' and the 'au' in August/Autumn/Augustus etc)

Very Ancient Rome - makes me think of of Marcus Aurelius :) I love historical names, so that't definitely not a bad association. I love this name. It's nicely unusual and sophistocated, yet somehow very sweet. It's a nice alternative to Alexander, Andrew, and other common A names. As for nns, how about Eli, Elias, or Elliot? I know they're a bit strecthy, but I couldn't come up with anything else. This is a very difficult name to shorten...

I'm very fond of this name in theory but I don't think I would actually give it to my child. It's a bit of a mouthful and it doesn't really lend itself to nicknames.Elle Macpherson named her second son Aurelius Cy but I believe he goes by the name Cy.
