Thank you all for your replies! When I think of Jade, (I think this is because I'm a history person) I think of the word "Jaded" or the historical slang term "Jade" which would be horrible to name a girl! So when I want to use it, I usually make it the bad guy of the story or at least a dark, dusky looking guy.

Jade is a girl's name, I like the combos Jade Marie, Jade Louise, Jade Katherine, Evelyn Jade and Skylar Jade

Love it for a girl, even though it's the middle name of one of my friends (or maybe because...)
Only time I've ever heard it on a guy is Jade Puget from AFI and even then, I thought they were talking about a girl for the longest time.~Randi Elizabeth~

I think of Jade from America's Next Top model. Terribly stuck on herself, illiterate, made up words ALL the time.It also reminds me of Jade from Mortal Kombat.I'd never use it. I used to think it was the coolest name ever when I was younger, though.

I think Jade is a really pretty name. I can see it on a boy, but I prefer it on a girl. As opposed to thinking of strippers like some of the others, I just think of a girl with red hair, green eyes and freckles. When I think of it for a boy, I think of an Asian boy for some reason.

Totally agree with your thoughts on what comes to mind with this name. I didnt ever think of it as a stripper name.~Randi Elizabeth~

Jade is all girl to me, although, I suppose it *could* be used on a boy...Jaden certainly is unisex and it's bound to get shortened.I think of the semi-precious green jade stone. Check Out Blinkyou.com for thousands of custom glitters and layouts

Girl's name, definitely not a boy's name.I actually love the semi-precious stone jade and might like the name if I didn't have negative, tacky associations with it. I think hair extensions, orange fake tan, etc.

It's a girl's name. Very strnage ona boy.
I don't care for the name, whenever I hear it I picture a silicone-enhanced stripper in her late thirties with a pound and a half of makeup on, or else a spoiled, mentally precarious soap-opera character.
It just carries very tacky baggage for me.

Girl's. I think it's too popular, and also kind of pretentious.-the warrior girl and her dragon lover-

I really dislike the name Jade. It does work well with many names as a filler mn. It sounds stripperish to me though. I can only picture this name on a girl.
