I like the name but I get the animal reference, a dog in a book and a batallion of horses i've known of. I think studious for a person though. someone with glassesand an interest in the library. the Churchill reference is good though

Reminds me of the cigarettes. Very formal sounding and a bit stuffy beyond that.

There's a kid in my grade named Winston (real first name Robert). He's rather annoying and precocious, so the assosciation isn't good for me.But otherwise, I guess the good side of Winston is that it does sound rather regal and charming. I also think of Winston Churchill, and while that completely depends on how you view him, it's a plus for me. But I, personally, can't get over the brat in my grade. :/

Now that everyone's said it reminds them of Winston Churchill, I'm going to sound really daft for saying this, but I'll say it anyway. It makes me think of Winston, the class clown in the Sweet Valley High series.

My neighbour has a dog named Winston. I think it's fine for a person, but unfortunately it always reminds me of her dog. Plus, I can't get the nn Winny out of my head when I see it.

I find it elegant but a bit old fashioned. It makes me think of Churchill, which is a very good thing, and also to the hero of 1984 (Winston Smith) and to Winston, the fish of the heroine of Cities are too small.

I think Churchill. Depending how you view Churchill will show what you think of it, I like the name Winston, conveys power and importants but without being overly strong.
