It's generally used as a female name, actually. (Of course, it's quite uncommon, but all popular culture Waverlys I can think of are chicks.) Waverly is Buttercup and Westley's daughter, and it's a character in The Joy Luck Club (if I recall correctly--I know Amy Tan has used it before, and for female characters). I dislike it on either sex, though. I think it's unattractive in the extreme.Array
