Mabel
My boyfriend announced today that rather than name our hypothetical first daughter after his deceased mum, Sarah, that he would like our first daughter to be named Mabel Emily for his grandmother. He then wants our second daughter be Sarah.I could deal with Sarah, but he is kind of hijacking it all now!Anyway, what do you all think of Mabel? WDYT of the combo Mabel Emily?I really love Mae...so I guess she could go by that...What are your favourite nns?
By the way, I am only 17 (my boyfriend is 21) so this is all very hypothetical as I don't plan on having kids until I am at least 25 :p

I like Mabel, it's cool in a quirky kind of way.
When they named their baby Mabel on the TV show Mad about you ( the grandmother said Mothers Always Bring Extra Love and they thought Mabel - perfect) I raised an eyebrow, but it has grown on me.
I'm not sure about Mabel Emily though, it's ok but not great. Couldn't Emily be saved for Sarah? So you could pick the MN for Mabel? Mabel Susanna and Sarah Emily?

Mabel Susannah and Sarah Emily are GORGEOUS! So pretty!
But Mabel Emily is his grandmother's full name, so I think that was the point. But I will definitely suggest it!

I prefer Mabelle (pr. ma-BELL), probably because I know someone with the name and I'm used to it. Her nn's are Mabe and Mabes.

I really like Mabel, also Maple ;-), and Mable Emily is nice. Sarah is not my style, bt fine. Mable and Sarah are a nice sibset.
At least he has a good taste :-)

Yeah he has excellent taste and likes pretty much all my choices (he has fallen in love with Susannah since I suggested it to him the other day as well), but he used to say as long as first bub is Sarah, I would have almost free reign on all the other names :p
Now I am being guilt tripped into putting Mabel on my list as well as Sarah.

Mabel Mabel, set the tableIs the first thing to come to mind. After that, i picture a fat, loud, gossiping old lady with dyed black hair and a telephone permanently grafted to her ear.Mabel Emily does not flow very well at all, the m's and l's mumble together.

hehe...I am going to be thinking Mabel, Mabel set the table my whole life now :p

I love Mabel and actually had Mabel Emily on my list! I also love Sarah. Mabel and Sarah would be really cute.

I think Mabel is cute in an on-someone-else's-kid way. I'm not fond of Mabel Emily. It just kinda slurs together. Mabel Sarah is nice though. I think Mae is nice too but with Mabel being only two syllables I don't think it has a need or use for a nn.
