Marley
Marley's a new name I'm really liking at the moment but only on a boy. WDYT of it and what middle names go with Marley?

I think of Bob Marley or the ghost in A Christmas Carol. Or Old Man Marley in Home Alone. Or Marlboro cigarettes. None of which are optimal namesakes. I don't know if I could take someone with this name seriously, but I would much rather see it on a male than a female.

I think it's sweet on a girl for some reason, but on a boy, I have the connotation of a strange guy / slacker, but this is probably only me because of someone I've known.Magnanimous Despair alone could show me so divine a thing, where feeble hope could ne'er have flown, but vainly flapped its tinsel wing.

Since it is a very surnamey unisex name I would suggest more traditional middle names
Marley David
Marley Edward
Marley James
Marley Joseph
Marley Nicholas
Marley Peter
Marley Patrick
Marley Richard
Marley William

Since I consider Marley more modern I would definitely pair it with a more traditional middle name. I like Marley James, Richard, etc. but Marley Spencer kind of appeals to me too. However since I like Marley as an occasional nn for Marlowe & for a girl, I would make sure to pair it with a masculine name above all else (but thats just my humble opinion).
