I like it! It's not at all the sort of name that I'd usually like, but I think it's great! I wouldn't use it as a fn, but like you said, it'd make a neat mn.

I'm thinking it's AIR-a-viss, and I have no intuition about the sex.
I guess its appeal is depending on its history at this point. It could grow on me.
