WDYT of Shiloh ..
My teacher is pregnant with a baby due in May, and she's thinking of naming it Shiloh - she's not sure of the sex yet. Only problem is .. her last name starts with the phrase "Shul" and is only 2 syllables. So it's like Shiloh Shul* .. the "SHUL" is pronounced like Yule only with an SH. WDYT? I don't think I like it.

Shiloh (click) is a title, masculine, and extremely pretentious.

I think it'd be cute. ;)

Meh, I didn't like it when Brangelina used it and, unlike a few other celebrity names like Romy & Deacon that I've come to really appreciate, it hasn't grown on me in the least.

I don't like the name Shiloh in general, but Shiloh Shul* is just silly in my opinion. It has no flow at all.

Oh dear. I don't like Shiloh anyway, and they will constantly hear "Oh, like Brangelina's baby?" :-/ But with such a similar sounding ln, it's definitely not a good idea imo, and not attractive at all. But hopefully they won't use Shay for the mn. :b

I quite like Shiloh for a girl, not sure about the surname having the same sound though.

I really like the name Shiloh but I would never use it because the most famous couple in the world named their daughter this. So I can only imagine 50 million other little girls running around with the same name in a couple years. And that alone killed it for me. Also, with the last name starting with Shul, I most definately would vote against it.

I like Shiloh fine for both genders, but with that last name it's pretty darn yucky sounding.

Don't like Shiloh and that was even before the Jolie-Pitt baby. It reminds me of a dog in a children's book.

Shiloh is an average sounding name. I think it's a girls'. Shiloh doens't sound good with the surname Shul though.

No, I don't like it with that last name either. That's too repetitive.. and it's practically asking for the child to have a lisp.I do like the name Shiloh though. I wish is wasn't so associated with Angelina Jolie these days. And I prefer it on a girl, just because the only Shiloh I know is a woman in her late 20s and I'm so used to it as a woman's name.

I LOVE Shiloh for either gender. I have for 10 years.I know Angelina & Brad have a girl named Shiloh, but that would not stop me from using it, afterall they don't own the name. I think it's a great name, and nice history besides the battle.ETA: but with the LN like that I'd never use Shiloh.
