Marta
Wdyt of Marta? I've always been a fan of Marcia and Martha, but they bring too many associations to mind, for me at least.Any combo ideas for Marta? Thanks in advance :)

I think it's lovely, and I like it more than both Martha and Marcia. I think part of the reason I like it is because of the "Sound of Music" connection. :) But I also have a thing for uncommon, old-fashioned, two-syllable girls' names ending in -a. :b

I know one Marta. She's about 40. It's okay, but I prefer the softer Martha.

I love the name Marta. I have no idea what to pair it with though.

I love Marta. I like it as a nn for Marguerite (I know I am in the minority here, as I have asked about it before).

Marta Christine

Marta Fleur
Marta Daphne

I've never considered Marta as a nn for Marguerite, but I like it. :) I know a Margaret who goes by Marty, so why not?

this is my friends name she pronounces it (Mare-it-ta)

How does she stretch it into 3 syllables?

That is really weird.. I have been obsessing with this name lately. I really like it, and I definitely prefer it to Martha (but I like that as well in a weird sort of way.)Hmm... combo-wise I am drawing a blank right now. I will think it over and add some when I am inspired. :)

Oh gosh. I immediately think of the train system that they have in Atlanta. But I guess as long as you don't live near Atlanta (which I'm assuming you don't), then no one will have that association. Out of all those Martha, Marcia, etc names, my personal favorite is Marthe. But I can see how people wouldn't find it appealing because it's pronounced the same as the word "mart" (in French anyway).Wdyto...?
Marta Shannon
Marta Rosalind
Marta Nicole
Marta Ellen
Marta Luella

Marta Elise
Marta Avaline (av-a-leen)
Marta Louise - I kinda like this
Marta Lorraine
Marta Lenore
