help or wolf
The website www.last-names.com says that the last part of Ralph comes from -ulph, meaning help, while this website (and a few others) says it's from -wulf, meaning, of course, wolf. Can anyone help?

I tried www.last-names.com to see whether they had any evidence for that theory, but I couldn't find the site. Different spelling?I have never heard of any theory other than -wulf. Can you tell what language -ulph is supposed to be?Andy ;—)

It's from the German word Wulf, hence "wolf"
