Male Or Female
There are male bearers of this name also female. I know a girl and her name is Amara and also a boy and his name is Amara. Is it because of where there from? Is it because of religion? I don't understand especially if Amara is a only feminine name?

There are some names that are feminine in some parts of the world and masculine in other parts of the world like the name Rio is feminine in Japan but in other parts of the world its a masculine name. Some names are unisex like Kayden Farah Ren Sora and Izzy.

Yes, sometimes there can be same-sounding names which are masculine in certain parts of the world but feminine elsewhere. An example would Joan, which is feminine in English but masculine in Dutch and Catalan. And, of course, there are many names which are unisex in their country of origin, such as Hikaru in Japanese. Where are your friends from? Have you asked them about their names?
