Arabic Name Jalila
I was watching an Egyptian drama series and there was a character that in the subtitles was named Jalila But it was pronounced as Galila. Would this be a transcription error or is the J in Jalila in Arabic pronounced as a hard G?

It is not an error, it is a matter of dialect or variety of Arabic. The hard G pronunciation of the Arabic letter Jim is typical for Egyptian and Sudanic Arabic. --elbowin

So would it be pronounced both Jalila and Galila in Arabic dialects?

Yes,Jalila is the Standard Arabic pronunciation and at least the initial J is common to all Arabic dialects except Egyptian and Sudanese.--elbowin
