Jessica
Hey folks! Yep, it's me again, been burrowing through the family bible for those names I never could pronounce as a kid. Can anyone help with the definitions? Most of these I've never heard before, or are rare now but not in antiquity. Here they are:Urracca: female name, borne by an Italian woman.Adeliza: Apparently a fairly common name in England a few hundred years ago, but I've not heard of it since. Nickname is commonly "Alice". Lots of Adelizas in my family tree.Aufrica: nother girl's name. Pretty name that, Aufrica.Awelina: Swedish female held this name.Rohese: the aforementioned Awelina's daughter.Berenger: male Italian, relative of Urracca.Ives, Forn, Sigulf: string of names held by fathers and sons in one family.Hildouin: held by a French male.Regnier: Held by a man from Hainault (which I seem to remember is a German-speaking country)Mahaut: this lady was often referred to as "Maud".

Whoops!Sorry about the subject line. I wrote in 'Yet more family names' but I accidently erased that and entered 'Jessica' instead. Anyway, the above post is *not* about the name Jessica, no matter how much I like it.
