Wow, the past ten years just slipped away. Andrew and I like the quietness of life now, but we missed all of the babies and teeny children! With our first kids off at college, our third son in teenager-mood city, and our girls going into 'Mom and Dad aren't cool' phase, (though both still enjoy talking to us while at home- it's just us being with them in public- I think this is rather funny) we decided to adopt a child! Adam Benjamin is the most adorable one-year-old we could ever ask to adopt. He is from Germany, and is wonderful and healthy! We are really happy to have him in our family. He brought along a pet cat, Sasha, which was perfect, since Rose and Sofie have been wanting a pet. The kids get along great with him, everyone is adjusting wonderfully! Adam is bright, happy, and very curious. He likes walking like a big boy.
Juliet is a gorgeous, accomplished, responsible woman now! In her third year of college, we are so proud. She is training to be a pediatrician! She is very happy, and loves school. She isn't going out with anyone at the moment, but has been hinting that she might soon.
Noah and Luca are also off at college- though different schools. Noah still doesn't quite now what he wants right now, he still wants to live his life without dedication. He is caring and happy, but sometimes he forgets about his future as an ADULT. He is going to a community college, and living in the dorms. Luca, on the other hand, is off at a college just out of our state, majoring in English, he wants to become an elementary school teacher.
Miles is suddenly a moody, adolescent teen. He's still Miles, of course, but is rebelling awfully unlike himself! He just doesn't seem to want to agree with anything Andrew and I say. Despite this, we hope it's just a phase, and suggested he start a sport. Now he's on the school football team, and he adores it.
Rose is now twelve. She is doing great. In seventh grade, her best friends are Bella Reese, and Carly William. Both girls are very nice! To our dismay, she has started to show signs of embarrasment towards us in public- but hey, we've been through that four times already, she'll be fine. We do take time alone with her, such as a Mom-Daughter night, or Andrew will take her to the movies, and she likes that. Rose is also on a basketball and softball team- where she is very popular. She likes all the attention, but we make sure whe understands that school comes first, and she's doing well! All As!
Sofie is wonderfull! She is such a happy child, almost never complains. Sometimes I wonder how the kid does it! She really enjoys her piano lessons, Andrew loves it when she plays. Sofie is also a very good babysitter- she was exstatic to find that she was going to become a big sister. Adam adores her, they play together all the time. 'Sofe Sofe', he calls her. Their favorite activity together is banging on pots and pans in the kitchens- which is great as a bonding experience, but not for improving Miles's mood :)
