okay so as part of said essay we had an article where our characters toured Judea with King Herod while interviewing him. We assigned him 8 guards (4 roman praetorians for the streets and 4 Jewish guards for an excursion on Har HaBayit).Their names:
Octavianus
Valerius
Gaius
Olympiodorus
***
Shabtai ben El'azar
Hananel ben Shim'on
Nehemiah ben Yehudah
Pinchas ben Yochanan
(all of these hebrew names are used in the mishnah and talmud, during the Herodian era or a bit later)I also transferred our names into period-friendly names, also using biblical names that were used in the Mishnah and Talmud as opposed to the trendier biblical names we have.Gilad ben Avraham- Gedaliah ben Avshalom
Omri ben Avraham- Amram ben Aviram
Ohad ben Oded- Aharon ben Ovadiah
(Avraham isn't recorded as a used name during the Mishnaic and Talmudic period, but Avram and Aviram are)
