Actually, Castor is one of my favorites. I don't think I would use it as a first name (because of the associations with castor oil that have been mentioned) but I would definitely consider it as a mn because of the wonderful meaning and mythology behind it. I don't care too much for Eliot, especially when spelled this way; I always want to pronounce it ee-lee-ot.
