Probably a combo of Cara and the popular name suffix ista (seen in such names as Christa).

Welll since it is my name I think I do know the meaning..... It means the Great Goddess and its origin is Sanskrit. It is a variation is Chanda. It is pronounced (or at least the way I do) Shawn-Duh. I hope that helps.
