[Opinions] Re: Vera and Megumi (plus rambling on about Megumi)
in reply to a message by Array
Love Megumi ("me" (like MEss), "gu" (voice the k in KOOkaburra), "mi" (MIni)). Just there as someone wanted to know pronounciation - though that's according to Australian accent.Megumi is one of my favourite Japanese names. I would use it as a first name or middle name. Though I think it's popularity peaked over the '80s or past 10 years (can't remember now and don't have time to check), it still has the popular -mi ending, even if it's not a separate -mi kanji. If I'm not making sense, Megumi means 'blessing' (well, that's the kanji used that I've always seen and what's given on behindthename), but a name like Nahomi has -mi that's it's own part and so can choose from a few different kanjis that are read as 'mi' (one being 'beauty' like that which is often used for Naomi).Vera is nms. Though it seems to me that it's definitely right down your alley and style. :D I prefer VEER-uh over VARE-uh. What about Vera as a nn for Veronica? Can't remember if you already have a nn in mind.
Vera Lisette is cute but also has spunk about it.
Hazel Megumi is my favourite of the Megumi combos.
Thalia Megumi is a good combo too. :)What about Vera Maureen, Vera Hermione, Vera June, Vera Petronella, Vera Evangeline, Topaz Vera, Vera Constance, Vera Thomasine, Bessie Vera, Patience Megumi, Luna Megumi, Eugenie Megumi, Lux Megumi, Keturah Megumi / Vera Keturah, Augusta Megumi? Just a few random thoughts...
