I am not a fan of Gabrielle. I just don't find the whole "Gab" part attractive and I dislike the nn Gabby very much.

However, I do love Elle, which you could still use the nn Ellie for. Elle can very much stand very nicely on it's own. In fact, I really like the sound of Elle Petersen. Even, your Earlier suggestion of Elise could have the nn Elle.
