[Opinions] Re: What do you think of Katherine and its nicknames?
I'm rather inclined to Catherine myself. :)As far as NNs go, I've never used one, and I prefer the full name. My favorite NN-- and the only would I would be willing to use-- is Kitty or Kit (my sister is having a baby in June and I want him or her to call me "Aunt Kitty"). Kathy/Cathy screams baby boomer to me. I know an exorbitant number of Katies. Kate is nice, I suppose, but a bit plain. I hate Kat/Cat. I don't know why, but I've never liked it when someone tried to call me Cat. I have met other K/Catherines called K/Cat, and it worked for them, but it's just really not me. I've never met a Kitty of my generation, but I have met older Kittys (my parents and grandparents generation). I think Kitty is both classy and spunky, so it's definitely my choice of NN.
