[Opinions] Love it. (m)
I plan on using it some day. Hopefully it won't have experienced a popularity surge by the time I have children, because I would rather like for my future children to maintain the individuality of the names I currently have on my list. In my opinion, Eleanor is a very age-appropriate name at any age. I know a couple of "Ellie"s who will probably go by Eleanor when they're adults. (Personally, I wouldn't use Ellie as a nn, but I love Ella. Or Lena. Or Nora.)The biggest reason I fell in love with the name was because of Eleanor of Aquitaine--I did a lot of reading about her after I discovered she's my great (x a bunch) grandmother; she was strong-willed, independent, and rather radical and revolutionary and she is absolutely fascinating.
