I don't really like Eleanor or Elinor. Elinor Christian is alright. I'm just used to Christian on a boy though. I would spell it Eleanor because that looks like the correct spelling to me and that's how everyone I know with the name spells it. My grandmother's name is Eleanor which is one of the reasons I don't like it. It makes it seem dated to me. It's strange though because my greatgrandmother named was Violet and I adore that name.

Nell is an alright nickname for Elinor. And I would only use Nell for a nickname. It doesn't seem like it could be a proper whole name. I prefer Nora as a nickname for Elinor.
