It all depends whether you take the Teutonic or Latin meanings for Rosamund - if the latter, "rose of the world", which was used for the medieval English king's lady love Rosamund Clifford, then it is related to Rose.
But it's so underused and so elegant that it beats all the Roses hands down!
Rosamond (I think this spelling) is Elizabeth Taylor's mn - her mum had good taste in combos.
And Alice Rosamund is lovely too!
