It is 1915.
Erik and Ylva have added two more children to their brood. Kristin Torborg was born in 1912, followed by Elina Merit in 1913. Erik and Ylva decided to move out of Chicago in 1913 after Elina was born. They just had too many kids to live in a city. The Lindgrens moved to a small Oregon farming community, where Erik is making a living by carving furniture and making wagons as well as trying his hand at farming wheat and vegetables. After living in the city for their entire lives, the older Lindgren children are loving the country life. Karin and Rike are finishing up school. Karin would like to be a schoolteacher. Rike isn't sure what she wants to do, but she is very fond of flowers and gardening. Andy, Johan, Jorgen, and Sven are a mischievious bunch of boys. Andy usually hangs out with his friends from school and leaves the younger boys to their own devices. Johan and Jorgen are doing well and are both very outgoing and friendly. They enjoy speaking Swedish to each other in school when no one else can understand them. Sven has made lots of friends at school and has declared that he never wants to leave Oregon. Freja, Kristin, and Elina are busy being Ylva's little helpers around the house. The girls speak mainly Swedish, but like testing out their English on their siblings.
