The Y sound in Ylva does not exist in English and as far as I know it's can be difficult for native English speakers to pronounce it. If you know French it is pronounced like the U in rue.
I might upload a sound file later with me saying Ylva in Swedish. That's probably the easiest way to explain :)

Sound fileHere's a sound file with me saying the name Ylva twice. This is how it is pronounced in Swedish but there is almost no difference in pronunciation when it is said in the other Scandinavian languages. http://www.box.net/shared/22g7fum80gYou don't have to download the file.
