That's basically what I was going to point out. I don't know any Carlitas but I know a boy named Carlos, that we sometimes call Carlito. He loves that. -ita/-ito is a Spanish diminutive, indicating "little". My aunt's name is Marita because her mother's name is Mary.I really like Carlita though. I adore Lolita, but people consider it unusable because of the book, which I don't understand, because it's simply a regularly used Spanish diminutive of Lola.
